Regulations for the production and sale of biodiesel in Manitoba kick in on Dec. 15, including fuel quality standards. The new standards, established as part of the Manitoba Biofuels Act, are needed as the province moves forward with plans to establish a biodiesel mandate, Energy Minister Jim Rondeau said in a release Friday. The regulations will set requirements for biodiesel manufacturers to obtain a licence, as well as reporting and record-keeping requirements for licence holders and penalties for failing to comply with a licence.
